Product Description
This old world globe replica is hand made on a paper mache core, built up of twelve
delicately colored gores, with polar calottes and the oceans decorated
with sailing ships. The original maps used for this terrestrial globe were
drawn by Geradus Mercator in 1541 and were revolutionary in that time
and age. Mounted on an elaborate wood stand with turned supports and
ball feet. Complete with printed horizon ring and functioning dry compass
and bronze meridian circle.
