Product Description

3" x 5".

Limited edition of 4000 units.

Bounding over choppy waves and navigating tight spaces, the Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat is a valuable tool for U.S. Coast Guard personnel. Portable and durable, the deep v-shape and reinforced plastic hulls can endure rough conditions in times of need, when a larger ship is too cumbersome to use. The firm hull is attached to a buoyant tube (with multiple compartments) and propelled by inboard or outboard engines. Of course, it is always a matter of good planning to have a spare set of oars aboard.

This boat is versatile, used to inspect other vessels from the water and can be easily deployed from a cutter using the four-point bridle. The Coast Guard has been known to use this boat to enforce water safety -- climbing aboard other vessels to inspect life preservers and ensuring that other fishing and boating requirements are met. Whether scouting bays for ships in need or patrolling the waters for wayward buoys, this boat is never at a loss for work. This version depicts a 19-foot model, with fixed seating for one pilot and two riders, (boats in service vary in length.) A handy supply of rope is coiled for towing, mooring or other needs. A dual showing of "Old Glory" adorns the metalwork and flaps steadily as the pilot maneuvers towards his next call to duty.
